Hey Ben, so glad you enjoyed this post. I didn't know how popular Robert Service was! I'm happy you were able to continue reading him and remain in that state of being. What other works by him are your favorite, or that stand out to you?
This is such a good poem by the Poet of the Yukon Robert Service. Great choice for an audio clip. And Daniel’s voice and ability to capture the story and deliver the rhyme scheme is fantastic! More of this please!
Very entertaining, chaps. Great job. And what a line: A half-dead thing in a stark, dead world, clean mad for the muck called gold. Could describe a reality TV star!
Hey Adrian, appreciate it. I really love that line now that you've pointed it out. It could describe a TV star or anyone chasing fame. TikTokers even lol. Thanks for commenting!
It's not that any one thing stands out. It's like reading KIPLING. You read one, and then you read another, and then you come across IF. Someone at work gave me a copy of BALLADS OF A CHEECHAKO, (1911) . It's the kind of book you can open and always find treasure. I just read : THE BALLAD OF THE BLACK FOX SKIN . It's hard to pick favourites.
Who doesn't love this! Great voice, great poem! I read this and then took his Collected Poems off my shelf and read him for an hour!

Thank you, Jason! I absolutely love Daniel's delivery on this one. We've got some awesome ones being queued up! Appreciate the kind words and comment.
This is fun 👍🏻, another great post and of course Daniels voice is so captivating. More please.
Thanks for commenting, Sandra. I hope to keep the hits from Daniel coming haha :)
