Wow! Thank you for the kind words and for including us as a part of your Showcase! This means a lot and I'll be sure to share this with the others in the team!
This sounds interesting. I'm trying to incorporate more audiobooks because there's just not enough time to READ all the books I want to! Being able to listen while I'm driving, walking, gardening, on the tractor, whatever is a great way to get in extra book time. (I don't do anything too mentally taxing at the same time.) The only problem I personally have with audio (books, podcasts, etc.) is that it's easy for me to get distracted or zone out. I'll miss important parts and get lost :-( I'd be curious to see if a more immersive audio would help keep listeners better focused? Or could it be distracting from other activities (like driving)? I guess it all depends on the listener and how they use the recordings, but it's definitely worth exploring!
I have to get most of my reading time in while I'm doing the things you mentioned above like driving, walking the dog, or cleaning around the house. Mainly because when I'm sitting still, it's to write or make something on my computer.
The immersive audio might help with focus in some aspects like depicting a scene change or denoting more significant events with sound cues. That's an interesting point. Maybe!
There's also two different versions of these immersive recordings. One is where the story was intended to sound like you're listening to a movie in that there is no narration, you only get the dialogue, music, and sound effects. The other is a traditionally narrated story with the above additions overlaying the recording, with possibly a full cast of voice actors for the dialogue. I still don't know which one I prefer, but I know that the latter is easier to follow during action scenes because the narrator is explaining what's happening.
That's interesting about the two different versions. I can see how the "movie" version might take more effort but engage more focus and imagination (like you said about listening to the tv from the other room.) Sometimes the most rewarding stories are the ones you have to work at rather than absorb passively. But, the nice thing about audio is also the passive aspect, because you don't always have the time and energy to focus on a book while you're doing other things, and you just like to be told a story :-) So, I don't know! It would be cool to contrast the different styles in different settings and see what's a good fit.
Wow! That all sounds very exciting, stay at it, liked the “Dad falling asleep comment”, lol. Yes that is so true, you were always so excited about watching movies with me only for me to fall asleep during them, even during the Movie Theater ones. The good news is, now I use a CPAP at night and sleep much better these days. I have much more energy and can stay awake through a entire movie that we start watching at 9:00 p.m.. I hope that wasn’t too embarrassing or TMI for your fans. Love you, keep up the wonderful inspiration and desire to succeed. Your an awesome person and I’m so proud you are my son. I new there was a reason I named you Winston, you were a born author with a cool name ready to go. 😊

So glad you liked it. I’m definitely enjoying the work you all are doing. Keep it up!

Hi, I kinda feel the same way. I guess my best time to listen would be on the treadmill or stationary bike because I too get distracted.
Yeah, I think the treadmill is my best listening time too, except I've been slacking off using that lately ;-)
