I really admire what you're doing here with Storyletter and I appreciate that you're willing to share what you learn with the rest of us as you build it. Writing this way is new for everyone and I think we're all experimenting to see how best to make it work. It's been great having a community to bounce ideas off of and get advice from as we navigate this uncharted territory. Storyletter is like an oasis. Definitely excited about what the future holds for all your projects, and so glad to have you as my co-librarian :-)
I'm so thankful to have met and been able to work with you, J! I appreciate all of your support. It does not go unnoticed. This online publishing frontier is very experimental in nature, and I think we're seeing a new shift in the industry as a whole. What gets mapped out remains to be seen, but I'm totally here for it. I love your writing and am honored to work with you! Thanks for commenting!
We're definitely on a similar trajectory, Winston, and I feel like we've chipped away some of what's not working, and we're finally shaping out a viable path forward. Your founding membership absolutely helped put the Lunar Awards in the black for 2023. I don't know if paid subscriptions will be enough to keep us in the black for 2024, and I'm reviewing all of the options for still paying (and even increasing the prize money) for the winners each season. As I land on anything of significance, I'll be sure to share it with you, as I think Storyletter XPress has a lot of life and potential ahead.
You're doing a great job living out your passion, and I'm excited to see what's next! I'll be shooting you an email soon here regarding my short story submission for the anthology.
I appreciate all of the support from you, Brian! I'm really glad we connected. I'm brainstorming, but I wonder if the sponsorship thing could be a viable way to increase the cash prize. I was thinking of offering to sponsor a season in order to double the cash prize. Hopefully with eyes on the sponsorship, others would seek to sponsor as well? Just throwing out ideas. Thanks again for all that you do for me and the community of fiction writers on Substack! Going to check the email now.
Hey Priya, so happy to hear that sharing my Substack journey has been inspiring! I wish you the best and hope that you consider submitting to the anthology, if you feel inclined to do so. No pressure. Your writing is wonderful and I'd be honored to publish your work! Thank you for commenting and sharing as always.
So so true! I can’t even begin to count the times I’ve chosen to draw instead of something more ‘productive’ like dishes or laundry. Luckily, after 20 years together my husband has come to terms with it. It helps I created two lil helpers he can bribe.
Would you rather....? haha. The answer is always going to be chill at home and create things. Unfortunately, I haven't trained my dog to do the dishes yet, but he doesn't chew up things that he's not supposed to, so we're moving in the right direction at least. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts on your passion, Elly!

Wishing you all the best for your plans. I'm in a similar quandry.
Thanks, Colin! Wishing you the same. What are you working on that is causing you trouble?
I consider myself a newbie writer and Substacker, and reading about how, and the ways, you are forging forward is very inspiring.

INCREDIBLE!
Awe, thank you, Gloria!
That should be "stories". I guess that says it all, haha.
Getting enough eyes on stores.
