Dear Reader,

This poem was inspired by the song “You Won’t Find me” by Narrow Skies, linked at the bottom of this post. Not sure why this piece came to me the way it did, but I couldn’t resist its pull. Hope you find something enjoyable. Stay warm out there. ~ WM

A final quest,

Might contained,

Freeze and hold,

Everlasting.

A final test,

Blight ingrained,

Grey yet bold,

Contrasting.

A final breath,

Quiet, sustained,

Blistered and cold,

Out-casting.

A final death,

White, frost-stained,

Withered and old,

Slowly passing.

Really liked this poem. It's compact yet powerful in its imagery and effect. Enjoyed the song also :-) they complement each other well. I love the way music can evoke and inspire further creativity. So much of my own writing has been shaped by the music I listened to.

I really enjoy your poetry. The imagery is beautiful. I’m reading this late on a cold night and it turned my eyes away from this device and to the world outside. Thank you.
