Hardcover Launch Report
We published Take Me There: A Speculative Anthology of Travel two months ago in hardcover and ebook. Since then, we’ve sold 31 print books and 6 ebooks across multiple platforms, totaling $909 in sales. This doesn’t include the current annual paid subscribers who received their digital and print versions via the XPress Book Box.
I’m so proud of this book. It’s the culmination of several years of trial and error, and I aim to improve with each iteration. As a comparison, my first print book, The Weight of the World, was released to 21 print sales (in the first 2 months). That makes this our best launch ever and has set the bar even higher for next year.
The hardcover price is a bit high, but it’s set for a potential profit margin of between $0.82 - $1.00 on wholesale national and international market sales. Therefore, your support is greatest when purchasing directly from SXP or online retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop, and others. Although, I still intend to get into physical retail bookstores by next year. So, the life of this book isn’t over, and I will share updates as we reach specific milestones.
To everyone who purchased a hardcover book or upgraded to an annual subscription, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s an honor to bring these authors’ stories to you in physical and digital formats. Speaking of formats…
The Paperback Edition
Today, we are releasing a brand-new version of Take Me There!
If the hardcover price is too high and you don’t like reading on your phone or tablet, this is the best way to get the book. It’s more affordable, and the flexible gloss cover makes the book pop on any shelf. I’ve even made some slight formatting changes that some will prefer over the hardcover version.
If you’d like to get a paperback copy, they’re available online wherever books are sold. Your support would mean the world to us. Here are a few options:
