Dear Reader,
After the release of Raptor came Raptor 2. We got a glimpse at Raptor’s intelligence while facing a lone hunter tracking her in the forest. Time has passed and the island has since been evacuated completely. Several governments are determined to destroy her by any means necessary. But she is no longer alone. Life finds a way…
After several long months on the island alone, Raptor grew reposed in her hazardous zone. She gave birth, in a special kind of way, Her offspring more like her each passing day. That tropical world called back to her home, An ancient era never genetically grown. While villagers fled, government programs were bred, Now Operation: Extinction loomed ahead. ~ Choppers descended amidst the trees, cabins chock-full of mercenaries. The humans were smart to arrive in daylight, knowing full well they could not win the night. Clad in all black, even the goggles and flak, weapons of war strapped to their backs. If laws were different on the island of Natus, they would've bombed it into a fully-charred status. ~ Raptor prepared and addressed her own, the two children riled, ready for bone. Their adaptive skin warped and blended, and up into the canopy they ascended. She waited within a hollow beneath, her elongated tongue raking her teeth. The soldiers would not see them coming, for the raptors of Natus were of the most cunning. ~ The enemy spread out to cover more ground, unsure of themselves, their formation unsound. Raptor mewed her signal aloud, her children responded, diving down proud. Swiftly they struck, quick as flashes, No one heard the severing slashes. Two humans were found, their bodies outspread, no aid was rendered, it was clear they were dead. ~ Now was the time to obliterate, The humans embraced their powerful hate. With technology beyond Raptor's comprehension, she did not understand what I'm about to mention. As the children struck twice, they won at first by surprise, but the soldiers retaliated with fire in their eyes. Their guns and bombs overwhelmed the raptors, putting to rest their violent chapters. ~ Although the pain of their deaths cut deep, Raptor waited in silence, under their feet. The soldiers tread on, the entire island swept, but they found no evidence of her as she wept. Her loss had be great but she'd make theirs far greater, and she vowed her revenge at a time much later. Humans would return to Natus once more, That'd be when Raptor would settle the score.
Raptor 3
Thanks for reading!! I’ve got an idea of where I can take the Raptorverse, however, it’s only if you want to see more. Vote on whether you’d like to see more of Raptor in the near future. Your feedback is much appreciated. Next week will likely be a free audio story for everyone. I haven’t decided which one just yet, but I’ll make sure it’s a good one!
I always enjoy your poems, more poems please.
